Dave, I blog on Active Rain. Most of my content is written for my Outside Blog called LakeRidgeVARealEstateNews which is a hyper local blog designed to reach home buyers and sellers in the Lake Ridge Virginia area. I write for the consumer. I have learned that blogging is simply farming ONLINE. No different then sending out hundreded of postcards in the mail. Except with the Internet, it is so viral and so social that relocating buyers call. A huge plus. The success of one’s blog ( success to me is measured by the number of ready to buy or sell consumers who email or call) really depends on who do you want to reach and are you sending out the messages that will attract that person.

My little blog was responsible for 75% of our closed business last year. We did over 7 Million in sales.

Jonathan I too am using the free service. It works great for me except that on occasion I would like to add a new plugin and can’t. However, it does about everything I need. How is your traffic, and how do you promote it. By the way leave your link in your next comment for others to follow.

I’m using wordpress too Dave, self hosted using the Thesis theme – I find it the most flexible for everything that I want to do. It also limits the amount of plugins I have to use, which in turn makes page load speed faster.

Hi Dave, there’s really nothing to be gained by going it alone. Why be isolated and try and move forward by guesswork when we can help each other out? We all have questions to ask about what we do – and we’re constantly learning new tips and tricks that others can benefit from too.

Actually it was had held. I had to edit out a lot of film to get it right. It is hard not looking and just aiming the camera. I don’t recommend it. My wife wasn’t with me that day. When she drives it is much easier.
